Private Camping and Crater Lodge
It was dry and the migration was well west of Ndutu so we explored the plains to the full. Lake Masek was extra special and resident wildlife was concentrated there. After Ndutu we spoilt ourselves at the Crater Lodge. It’s well over the top but makes for a pleasant stay between camps. Our safari crew had moved our camp up to Sanjan as rain started to fall. Our walks in the Sanjan and Ol Karien Gorges were stunning as were our walks on the plains. As we departed Sanjan on our very last day the wildebeest had responded to the rain and could be seen galloping, as only they can gallop, out onto the now lush green Serengeti short grass plains. A great send off and a sight that still lifts my soul.
